Communications Aids Room
The Cascades Library provides a Communication Aids Room intended for use by people with disabilities and their caregivers. To make an appointment to use the equipment or to request an orientation session, call the Reference Desk at 703-444-3228, ext. 5.
- PC with Internet access and CD-ROM drive, speakers, trackball, and Intellikeys keyboard
- Scanner, printer, Transend printer (Braille embosser with print)
- Available software includes Microsoft Word, Open Book Unbound (text reading from scanned material), JAWS (screen reading), and Zoom Text
Meeting Rooms
Meeting rooms are available for public use. Call the branch to verify availability and request a sign-up form; or the form can be downloaded here. Completed, signed forms may be faxed (703-444-1336) or brought in person to the library. A variety of assistive listening devices and audio-visual equipment is available in each meeting room.

- Meeting Room B seats 100.
- Meeting Room A and B combined seats 120
- Meeting Room C seats 125.
- The Conference Room seats 8-10 using 2 conference tables.
- The Group Study Room seats 8-10 using 2 conference tables.
- Small Study Rooms are available on a first come, first served basis.
Meeting room use is free to clubs and non-profit organizations. A fee is charged for use by for-profit organizations. See Library Meeting Room Use Policy for more information.
Personal Computers
The Library provides access to personal computers for use by the public. Use of the computers is free, with a charge of 10 cents per page for printing. The library provides free Wi-Fi service for those who bring their own laptops equipped with wireless capability into the branch. The library also has a typewriter available for public use.
- Personal computers with Internet access and print capability are available on a first come, first served basis, for 15 minutes or one hour at a time.
- Personal computers with Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint) and print capability are available for two hours at a time.
- Personal computers with educational games for children ages 3-8 are available for 30 minutes at a time.

Regularly scheduled programs include:
- Lapsits for 2's - Tuesdays at 10:30 A.M. and Wednesdays at 11:15 A.M. *
- Mother Goose Nursery Times (18-24 months) - Tuesdays at 11:15 A.M. and Thursdays at 10:30 A.M.*
- Story Time for 3's, 4's and 5's - Wednesdays at 10:30 A.M. and 1:30 P.M.*
- After School Book Break (5s to 8s) - Wednesdays at 4:00 P.M.
- Pajama Storytime - Tuesdays at 7:00 P.M.*
